Using and Making Homemade Flours
I make all my flours at home, with the exception of whole wheat. While there is nothing intrinsically wrong with store bought flours, I find that I can make them very easily and much less expensively than if I buy them in the store. It's also fun. I always feel like I am doing something extra special and good for my family when I make flour from scratch.
Since I do not buy these flours, I cannot recommend any specific brands. However, I know there are many out there in stores and online to choose from.
Flours should be stored in the freezer for a much longer shelf life, as they tend to go rancid quickly. If you store them in the freezer, you can use them for several months.
