I use bananas almost as much as I use raisins as a natural sweetener. Bananas are excellent sugar replacements, plus you get the benefit of the vitamins, minerals and fiber contained in the whole fruit. Bananas are very versatile--use them to sweeten cereal or oatmeal, to make homemade ice cream or in baking recipes. The rule of thumb is, the riper the banana, the sweeter it is. Bananas do have a strong flavor so just keep that in mind when using them.
